Mira's life

Mira was born February 5 2008 died October 23 2020
One year after Charlie died I decided to get another dog, an eight week old puppy. My children thought it was a bad idea to get a puppy at my age, 72. It turned out she had more energy then any of my other  dogs and more energy then I had to deal with it. However she was very bright, loved water and loved to fetch. I could throw the ball down the driveway 50 times while she ran down and back and I just had to lob the ball. We took walks every day mostly to the shore and she went with me when I went out to paint, and when I went for my swims. She always went in the water, even rolled in puddles. She was built for water. She even went swimming in winter when the water temperature was in the forties.

I have some good Mira stories to tell, here is one. I have a story that is amazing. Mira my dog has a great deal of energy that I wish she could transfer to me. I was buying soup bones to give her to keep her busy. She would eat the marrow and play with the bones. The bones averaged three inches in diameter be two inches in length. Doug, Christina and Lucy were up for Thanksgiving.  We were watching a movie on TV. I noticed Mira had a bone caught in her mouth and it was around her lower jaw. She was trying to get it off and was getting frantic. Doug grabbed her but could not move it, We realized we had a big problem. Doug is so leveled headed. He found a  coping saw and got Mira down with his leg over her and us helping to keep her from moving. He carefully sawed  almost through the bone on the right side of her jaw and the left side of her jaw. He didn't cut himself or the dog. Then with a screwdriver split the bone. The top half came off, the lower part had to be wiggled loose. In case this tail needs to be proven I have the bone now in two parts and a picture of Doug as he sawed. If this had happened when I was alone I would have had to take her to the vet which would have cost a fortune and  would they have been as efficient as Doug was. You can imagine the scenario that could have happened.

I am having trouble with this program and don't know how to log in more images so I make another blog
